the streetwise team - who are we?
Jessica Overlander-Kaye
Jessica is the Streetwise Project Manager. She has worked at streetwise for 2 years. She studied counselling and therapeutic studies at Leeds University and has 10 years experience of special needs and youth work. She oversees the whole project and looks at new and exciting areas and projects to develop.
Mike Blonde
Mike has been involved in most aspects of security for 30 years with the CST and is the chief instructor for the Streetwise Personal Safety programmes. He is a senior KM (Krav Maga) instructor.
Claire Simmons
Claire has been involved with Maccabi GB since the age of 15 and after graduating both from the Maccabi Leadership programme and Warwick University (BSc Psychology) she began her role at Streetwise as Project Worker. One year later Claire has become Leadership Manager and now has responsibility for the Leadership programme as well as continuing to be part of the busy Streetwise team.
Ashley Lerner
Ashley started working at Streetwise at the start of September as Project Supervisor and having come to us having spent the last year as a movement worker for FZY. Ashley has been a leader on summer camps and tours, has run educational student seminars in the UK and Israel. We are very excited to have Ashley at Streetwise and look forward to him being an integral part of our team.
Nicki Linton
Nicki studied BA (hons) in youth and community studies at De Montfort University in Leicester. Nicki's youth work experience began 12 years ago as a leader in a youth organisation where she attended and organised many summer and winter camps and was a leader on Israel tour. Having previously worked in child protection teams, Nicki has spent the last two years as a PSHE teacher before coming to work at Streetwise
Jude Kaplan
Jude has been working as the Northern Project Worker since July. Jude is focusing on arranging and running the Foundation, Bronze and Silver courses in Manchester as well as projects in Glasgow. Jude has also been concentrating on working with King David High School on their PSCHE lessons.
Georgina Bednar
Georgina has a background in the arts, having graduated from Edinburgh University with an MA in History and International Politics. As an arts and community facilitator, she has experience of working with teachers and young people both inside and out of mainstream education. She enjoys devising and delivering personal development and arts projects with past clients include Highbury Grove School, Trestle Theatre and Artefacts Edutainment. As Project Worker for Streetwise, she is introducing more arts techniques into workshops and programmes as well as developing parenting and external courses.
