bereavement
Death is an inevitable part of life, but is not always easy to deal with. It may be a grandparent or aunt or uncle. It may be a parent or brother or sister. The person may not even be close to you, but their death still has an impact. We may also experience loss when a family pet dies, or our parents get divorced, or when we move away from our area.
There is no right or wrong way to respond – everyone reacts in a different way. It depends on your personality, and your circumstances. Lots of people find they experience a whole range of emotions when they experience loss – shock, disbelief, denial, anger, guilt, depression, anxiety. Our reactions to our loss may be short lived, but they may also continue over a long period of time and that is ok too.
