Kenton Maccabi
Recently, Streetwise delivered sessions at Kenton Maccabi with 14-17 year olds, using the PSCHE educational resource pack and DVD. PSCHE stands for personal, social, citizenship and health education and the DVD scenes show young people talking about different issues that affect them, such as bullying, relationships and substance misuse.
Each week Streetwise have looked at a different issue with participants, beginning with an introduction about their general worries and responding to their main concerns by looking at relationships and sexual health. The environment has been very relaxed sharing thoughts and engaging in quizzes, role-play and thought-showers.
Over twenty schools and synagogue youth organisations have been given a free resource pack and DVD and Streetwise are working together with them to deliver sessions to young people from the pack. If you are a teacher or a youth worker and would be interested in using this unique and easy to use resource, please contact Streetwise on 020 8457 2331 or email info@streetwisegb.org.
Streetwise has also been running sessions for Borehamwood Synagogue and JLGB in Redbridge. We are also working with other clubs on one off sessions and programmes.
