"I have a step non-Jewish grandma who's antisemitic, what should I do?"

It is a shame that you feel this way as it is very important to have good relationships with people in your family. If you feel that you are able to, it might be worth sitting down with your step-grandmother and explaining to her how her thoughts and feelings affect you and make you upset.

It is important to remember that you should always communicate in a sensitive way, trying not to be aggressive when you speak. A good relationship with our friends and family is one in which you are able to communicate with each other and feel comfortable to tell each other how you feel in good times and in bad times.

We all have different opinions on things in life and it is a shame that these opinions and thoughts that your step-grandmother has, upset you and make you feel uncomfortable.

Try not to feel bad about what she may say and remember what you have learnt in the Streetwise antisemitism session this week.

If you have anything else you would like to speak with Streetwise about you can do it at the next Streetwise session or email me at info@streetwisegb.org . You can also call us on 020 8457 2331.

I hope you feel better and feel comfortable to speak with your step-grandmother.
