“What do you do when people bitch about you behind your back?” – Anon
It is never nice to hear that people are saying things about you behind your back. It is important that you try and not let it get you down. If you feel confident enough you might want to confront the people doing it, and tell them it is upsetting you and you would like them to stop. If they continue to talk about you and you are getting upset, you should speak to someone like an older brother or sister, an older pupil or a member of staff you trust, as this is a form of bullying.
To help you feel better about yourself why not make a list of all your good points. For example, “I cheer my friends up when they are down, I help my Mum with the washing at home, I help my friends when they are stuck with their work.”
The most important thing is you need to be happy with yourself. If you know you are a nice, kind, friendly person, who looks out for their friends, that is what really matters, and not what other people say or think about you.
"Everyone in my year 7 class is from Wolfson Hillel, so its hard to make new friends” – Anon
Going to a new school is not going to be easy, and with a class full of people who already know each other, it probably seems even harder. It is unlikely that every other single person went to Wolfson Hillel, and knows each other. Try and find who didn’t go to that school, as it is very likely they too feel the same as you. Once the first initial days and weeks of the new school year are over, you will be so busy with your new lessons, homework and after school activities, that your primary school will seem like a distant memory. At this stage you will have formed a new class and school identity and the Wolfson Hillel pupils will feel and identify with their new school, new friends and new way of life. It might seem hard right now, but it will get easier and you will make new friends.
